Precious Peggy is looking for her perfect forever home and would positively love for that to be with you!

This beautiful 6 year old fawn girl has been in the care of Amazing Greys since mid-March, and has adjusted wonderfully to life as a beloved family member in her time in foster care. She has learned good toileting manners, how to share her space with her greyhound foster brother, play with loads of soft toys, and give away plenty of cuddles.

Peggy is your typical active fashionista who has some serious bursts of energy and loves to collect things like shoes, hats, and caps. Don’t worry, she won’t damage shoes; she would much rather scatter them all over the house (especially on days when you are at work) just to let you know she was thinking of you. Best you keep your hats and caps out of her way though, she will give those a jolly good nibble. Her food manners on the other hand are much better, and while she will try to have a sniff (and a lick) of any human food left within reach on the coffee table, she responds perfectly to being redirected.

Peggy has come leaps and bounds in foster care, and her new home will continue to encourage her on her training journey with positive reinforcement. Initially, Peggy was very intense and overbearing when she approached other dogs, but has improved with training and careful socialisation. Now she can walk right past other dogs without stopping to greet them if need be, and is gentle and friendly on her leash with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She has also been around a Labrador puppy in a home setting, but the introductions and play were monitored as she is still learning about her size and strength. When she first arrived in care Peggy would get very overstimulated when her humans got home and would demonstrate this with a bit of jumping and humping in her excitement. This has since settled and Amazing Greys (and her fosters) have great advice for how to manage the behaviour if it occurs in her forever home.

Peggy's ideal family will have a medium to large canine sibling, be allowed on the couch, have space for her impressive zoomies, and humans who give her loads of warm coats, soft toys, balls, and cuddles. Of course, she would love to have a willing playmate for fetch and tug of war too. Speaking of which, Peggy is extremely gentle with humans and has interacted well with dog savvy children (ages 7+). She can be left home alone a couple of days a week for up to 8 hours, but must have canine company.
