About Rocky ~ 4mo Kelpie Puppy(On Trial 19/6/22)
Meet Rocky – a black and tan 16-week-old Kelpie pup. If you are looking for a new best
mate and a companion for all your adventures, then Rocky is the guy for you!
Rocky loves playing fetch and running around in the backyard just as much as he loves
curling up in front of the tv with his humans. Rocky gets along well with his foster fur sisters
doing zoomies and playing tug-o-war with his toys.
Rocky was quite timid when he came into care, but since being shown what love and a
stable environment is, he is coming out of his shell. Rocky has not had much experience
walking on a lead but it shouldn’t take him long to learn with proper training as he is a very
smart boy. He has already learnt to sit for his food and raise his paw to shake!
Rocky does jump up to greet people, but his foster carer is working on this. His perfect
forever family will also need to continue with his training to ensure Rocky has the best
manners possible.
As Rocky is a working breed, his forever family will need to understand that he will need
daily walks when he is big enough and lots of mental stimulation. Rocky would also benefit
from puppy school or even be great at agility training to stimulate his mind.
Rocky doesn’t seem phased by other dogs but gets very excited and barks at the sight of
cats. For this reason, his ideal home would have no cats or pocket pets.
Rocky would love a home with another friendly dog or an active owner or family that would
take him on adventures and welcome him into the home when it’s time to relax.
Since Rocky does get excited and jump, a home without young children would be best.
Rocky’s new home would need secure 6ft fencing with no gaps. Due to Rocky’s breed,
please do not apply if you have a courtyard/small backyard/apartment.
Rocky is in foster care in Heddon Greta NSW. His adoption fee is $700 which
includes all up to date vet work such as vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, flea, tick and worm treatment. For more information about Rocky, please contact his foster carer Mel via email: mel.drnfoster1@gmail.com
As Rocky is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast or Port Stephens area as he will need to attend a DRN approved Vet for desexing when he is approximately 5 – 6 months old. Please no out of area applications.
