NOTE: You are unable to meet Tonka until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Tonka in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.


What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• I have never interacted with another dog before coming into the shelter so I can be unsure of how to behave around and with them! I will require a lot of positive socialisation with other dogs so that my behaviour improves and not deteriorates towards them.
• I LOVE getting all of your attention and am happy to lay on the lounge with you
• My history with cats in unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. There can be no guarantee that I will be ok living with cats, so it is recommended that I don't go to a home that has them.
• I am great with kids
• Not an overly active boy, I am a bit on the chonky side so I do need a family who will help get me back into tip top shape. I also love swimming and paddling in lakes, this would be great for me to get back into shape.

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Other dogs
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase

My best features:
• Little Wiggle butt
• Huge lovebug
• Highly food motivated
• Well mannered & gentle boy
• I am responsive to my name
• I can sit on command
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I Walk SO well on the lead, I hardly pull at all unless I see something of interest
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I appear to have never been socialized with other dogs so I am unsure of how to interact with them. Once settled in a home further socialisation in a controlled environment will be very beneficial for me.
