About Barney Banana
Hi my name is Barney Banana and I am an inquisitive, super happy, 10 week old Heeler X looking for my forever home. I am the happiest little guy you will ever meet â you will fall in love with me instantly!
Current weight 5.2 kilos
Based on his current weight we feel he will be a medium size boy once fully grown.
Barney Banana is a vibrant, energetic boy who is into everything. You will get a kiss from him and maybe even a nibble on the ear, although with puppy teeth they feel like needles. Barney likes spending time outside and inside the house â he is happy to play and explore and loves hanging out with everyone. He will sit and stare at you through the glass door and give a whine when he wants attention. He has learnt his voice and enjoys playing with his siblings and foster dogs. He has the most adorable face and eyes. He is full of life and would be a great companion for an active person or family.
* PLEASE NOTE
THERE ARE 9 PUPPIES IN THIS LITTER AND IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A FEW DIFFERENT ONES YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY FOR EACH ONE SEPARATELY AS WE POST THEM
YOU WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED FOR ONE OF THIS LITTER
Each of these adorable puppies will come with one of our adoption packs including harness and lead
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR ENQUIRY
Food
Barney Banana is currently eating three meals a day consisting of premium puppy dry food and either cooked chicken or rice. Barney Banana loves, and I mean LOVES his food and when you are preparing his meal he will come running, he will sit and watch you prepare the meal. He is first to try and get to his bowl and gulp down his food. He has sampled lamb off cuts and we are using Smackoâs for treats and training.
Sleeping
Barney Banana loves sleeping with his 2 siblings in a covered crate. He sleeps through the night and normally goes to bed around 10pm and will not wake until about 7 am. Barney and his two siblings have access to a run and may need a toilet run during the night. During the day he will snuggle up with one of his siblings or in a round dog bed at the back door.
Toileting/Training/walking
Barney Banana is continuing to learn about toilet training and has access to the garden at night and both garden and grassed area during the day. On occasions he has had an accident inside if he has been too long inside, but will mostly go outside. In his new home we would expect him to have a few accidents until he is used to her new surroundings and finds his spot. It will be important for you to encourage him to go outside once he wakes up from sleeping or taking a nap.
Barney Banana can currently sit on command and will take food gently from your hand. It will be important that he goes to puppy school to further his training.
Due to his age and not being fully vaccinated Barney Banana has not practiced being on a lead yet. He will need ongoing use of the lead and would benefit from learning from other dogs. We also take him out the front to get him used to seeing new things like cars driving past and people/dogs out walking.
Once Barney Banana is old enough and fully vaccinated it will be important that he is taken for a daily walk/s â he looks longingly at his foster brother and sister when they head off on their walks.
Exercise/toys
Barney Banana loves exploring in the house and outside in the garden. He can be seen with his siblings in the garden playing hide and seek. He is also into playing in all the plants around the back yard and will need a few toys or activities to keep him occupied. He enjoys wrestling with his brother. You will normally find him outside in the garden exploring or playing. Barney Banana is learning about tug of war and will chase a ball. He is often seen play fighting with his brother.
Children
Barney Banana is currently living in a home with 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, which he adores. Barney Banana has also been around other people and is very friendly, however he has puppy teeth and so a home with older children would be better suited.
Dogs/Cats
Barney Banana has not been tested with cats, but due to his age I don't see any problem with him being homed with a cat.
Barney Banana is currently living with two of his siblings and 2 Jack Russellâs who are older. Barney Banana tryâs getting attention from the other dogs, but being older they can be grumpy. Barney Banana would love to find a home with a medium size female dog. He is very considerate and doesnât annoy them too much.
Travel
Barney Banana is not fussed by the car and will normally just lay down and enjoy the ride.
Bath
Barney Banana has had a few baths and is not fussed by the water at all. He is given treats during the bath to learn it is ok to have a spa treatment.
Barney would love the following type of home
A decent size backyard with grass for him to run and play on that is securely fenced and shelter areas
A family that are willing to take him to puppy school and ongoing training and keep him well socialized all through his life with other dogs
A nice daily walks when immunized and old enough
Preferred home with a medium female dog who is very well socialised with others but kind and gentle with puppies (non dogs homes will also be considered)
Must be able to sleep indoors / under cover in a kennel or crate
.His new family must understand puppies take time to settle in and all things puppy including crying, chewing and training is a must) puppies are a fair bit of work and his family must be committed to ensuring her develops to his full potential by raising him and training him
