Billabong

Hi my name is Billabong and I am a super smoochy, 10 week old Heeler X looking for my forever home. I have the most amazing nature – I am loving, curious and kind!

My Current weight 6.8 kilos so based on my age and weight we feel I will only grow into a med size boy

Billabong is a big soft boy and loves a big cuddle. You will get a kiss from him and maybe even a nibble on the ear, although with puppy teeth they feel like needles. He will sit and stare at you through the glass door and give a whine when he wants attention. He has the most adorable face and eyes. He is a chubby little fella who is great to cuddle.

Food

Billabong is currently eating three meals a day consisting of premium puppy dry food and either cooked chicken or rice. Billabong loves, and I mean LOVES his food and when you are preparing his meal he will come running, he will sit and watch you prepare the meal. He is first to try and get to his bowl and gulp down his food. He has sampled lamb off cuts and we are using Smacko’s for treats and training.

Sleeping

Billabong loves sleeping with his 2 siblings in a covered crate. He sleeps through the night and normally goes to bed around 10pm and will not wake until about 7 am. They have access to a run and may need a toilet run during the night. During the day he will snuggle up with one of his siblings or in a round dog bed at the back door.

Toileting/Training/walking

Billabong is continuing to learn about toilet training and has access to the garden at night and both garden and grassed area during the day. On occasions he has had an accident inside if he has been too long inside, but will mostly go outside. In his new home we would expect him to have a few accidents until he is used to her new surroundings and finds his spot. It will be important for you to encourage him to go outside once he wakes up from sleeping or taking a nap.

Billabong can currently sit on command and will take food gently from your hand. It will be important that he goes to puppy school to further his training.

Due to his age and not being fully vaccinated Billabong has not practiced being on a lead yet. He will need ongoing use of the lead and would benefit from learning from other dogs. We also take him out the front to get him used to seeing new things like cars driving past and people/dogs out walking.

Once Billabong is old enough and fully vaccinated it will be important that he is taken for a daily walk.

Exercise/toys

Billabong loves exploring in the house and outside in the garden. He can be seen with his siblings in the garden playing hide and seek. He enjoys wrestling with his brother. You will normally find him outside in the garden exploring or playing. Billabong is learning about tug of war and will chase a ball. He is often seen play fighting with his brother.

Children

Billabong is currently living in a home with 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, which he adores. Billabong has also been around other people and is very friendly, however he has puppy teeth ( Teething stages ) and so a home with older children would be better suited.

Dogs/Cats

Billabong has not been tested with cats, but due to his age I don't see any problem with him being homed with a cat.

Billabong is currently living with two of his siblings and 2 Jack Russell’s who are older. Billabong tries getting attention from the other dogs, but being older they can be grumpy. Billabong would love to find a home with a medium size female dog. He is very considerate and doesn’t annoy them too much.

Travel

Billabong is not fussed by the car and will normally just lay down and enjoy the ride.

Bath

Billabong has had a few baths and is not fussed by the water at all. He is given treats during the bath to learn it is ok to have a spa treatment.

Billabong would love the following in his new home

A decent size backyard with grass for him to run and play on that is securely fenced and shelter areas

A family that are willing to take him to puppy school and ongoing training and keep him well socialized all through his life with other dogs

A nice daily walks when immunized and old enough

Preferred home with a medium female dog who is very well socialised with others but kind and gentle with puppies (non dogs homes will also be considered)

Must be able to sleep indoors / under cover in a kennel or crate
