Hi friends, my name is Red!
I was rescued from death row, after my owners abandoned me in a council pound. Not a lot is known about my history, other than I was rarely let off the chain. I was very nervous when I came into care, and had no vet work done- so it seems it was for the best my owners walked away; now I can get proper care!
I have settled into foster care quickly. I adore my foster home and the humans and animals alike! I am great with my obedience training, as I am both eager to please, and food driven! I have been trained not to chase animals like our guinea fowl and chickens, come to my name when called, and I'm working on my leash skills. Sometimes I get very excited when it's play time and I will bark, but I am slowly learning that play time is a regular part of my new life, and I am settling more by the day! I get along great with the other dog here and would suit a normal family, who have another dog for company.
I am used to humans who work, and just keep myself busy with my toys or dog friend. Like any dog, I need mental enrichment (good toys, puzzles, snuffle mats etc) and outings a few times a week to run, sniff and roll. I am well behaved at the vet and would suit most homes. I haven't yet met cats, so I would prefer not to live with any, unless you have experience training dogs on being gentle with cats.

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.

NEED FLIGHTS?
1. Contact us for a quote via email or facebook, providing the following info.
- Your name
- The animal you are interested in
- How soon you would be able to adopt (as naturally their weight will increase with time)
- Which airport you would collect from
2. Once all of the above information is provided, we will gain a quote from JetPets, using our charity discount. Flights are generally from Brisbane or Toowoomba, QLD.
3. Once you receive your quote, if you'd like to proceed please put in your adoption application ASAP to make sure you don't miss out!
