About Earl Grey
Earl Grey is only the second teeny, tiny Chihuahua we have fostered (after Tetley) but we are hooked! What a little character she was and he is!
Earl (Early Whirly) came from the Pound with Tigg, a larger breed pup and they were very bonded at the time. Because of his very small size it was decided to separate them and bring Earl into our home instead of the Kennels to provide him with the care such a tiny pup requires.
We’re not sure of his birthdate but the vet thinks he would have been born towards the end of February. He is still very small, weighing around 1 kilo.
Earl has got his communication with us down pat - it’s very easy to work out what he’s trying to tell/ask us! He adores my husband Ray and loves to snuggle down the front of his vest and have a nap. If he wants to be picked up, he repeatedly lifts his front feet off the floor, then down again, while giving a cute little yap. The same thing if he wants food or wants to get in our bed - yes our bed, he quickly decided our bed would be the warmest place to sleep! He’s no trouble in our bed, initially staying pretty much in the same place, but now moves to wherever it suits him.
If he wants to go to the toilet, he jumps out of bed and runs to the nearest pee pad or if I’m getting up myself during the night, I pop him on the pee pad.
His toileting is becoming more reliable and most of the time he uses the pee pads.
He loves playing tug with our other little house dogs or racing around after them while they play - most have accepted him now, though they didn’t like him much in the beginning. He also doesn’t mind the cats.
Early Whirly has had his 2nd vaccination so we now allow him to go outside briefly to explore (see the little video of him racing around).
We won’t find it easy to part with him, but that’s what fostering is all about. If we have too many of our own, we can’t help those who need help.
We are located at Moree NSW (a 6-7 hour drive from Sydney) You will need to make your own arrangements to collect Earl if you are the successful adopter.
Please see adoption details below.
Medical notes
Vet checked, microchipped, has had 2 vaccinations, will be desexed before going to his new home.

Tell us about the home and lifestyle you can offer Earl Grey.
We are interested in your family situation (who is in your family) their work/study hours, how long Earl would be left alone during a typical week.
What you can offer a dog in terms of activities, outings and training.
If you have other pets - in most cases we look favourably on a home with an existing dog or the possibility of adding another dog at a later stage (the exception would be if the dog being rehomed is not so good with other dogs).
Whether the dog will be welcome inside. Where the dog will sleep etc.
