Mavis is an affectionate girl who laps up attention and enjoys cuddles. She's is a people-social dog and thrives when her humans are around for company and interaction. Mavis would suit a family with older children, say 10+. She likes having a ball thrown for her to retrieve, and is trained to come, sit and lay down but can also have a stubborn streak especially if excited about something.
Mavis has been left alone a lot in her previous home recently and has tended to get understandably lonely and bored, so if being left now it's a good idea to leave her with some chew toys and/or a kong, to keep her occupied while you're out, or she may stress and find something else to do, such as digging. She would love a home where someone is around most of the time such as early retirees or a worker from home. She is a bit of a sooky lass who will need extra TLC while she adjusts to her new life.
Mavis enjoys a daily walk, however will get anxious in new places until she's familiar with them, and also around other dogs that she does not know. She is more comfortable sticking to a routine and walking in the same area each day, at least until she is settled into her new home.
Mavis won't suit a household with cats or other small furry animals. She has grown up with a small dog, however as she can take a long time to adjust to new pooches she would best suit a home as your only pet.
This sweet girl is looking for that special new owner who will turn her life around with lots of routine, reassurance and stability. Someone who has time to give her the attention she craves. Mavis has buckets of love to give back in return!
If you think you can be this girl's new family, please fill out our form and we'll get back to you soon.
