About Lucky
Meet Lucky, who is quite possibly the quirkiest cat we have met!
If you’re not much of a reader, Lucky is best described as a loving member of the family who occasionally has the odd mood swing. “You can pat me, but only on my terms” sort of thing. She’s fine to live with children and dogs but is not cat social. She’s quirky, cheeky, cuddly, and her stomach is a bottomless pit (so go easy on the treats!) Oh, and she strangely smells like roses!
What can we tell you about her Background?
Lucky was known to wander her local streets for more than a year and had been reported as always looking a little worse for wear. After seeing photos of her on top of a bin looking for food, our cat trapping team headed out to take a look. We managed to locate the home she came from and her owners agreed to surrender her so she could get the help she needed. All they could tell us was that she was 2-3 years old, born in a washing machine, and had lived through two failed pregnancies ending in the birth of deceased and deformed kittens. Covered in scratches and bites, missing most of her hair because of a flea allergy, with a frail frame of skin and bone and a very standoff-ish attitude, Lucky made her way to her foster home to start her recovery.
How was she when we rescued her?
It was evident that Lucky had become the outcast of her colony, always being chased then attacked by the other cats around her. This left her covered (and we mean COVERED!) in scratches and bites all over. She was also missing a lot of fur over her back hips and tail and had very irritated skin, which indicated that she was suffering with Flea Allergy Dermatitis leaving her frustratingly itching. Lucky was also very underweight and starving, with pieces of chewed rubbish in her faeces from eating scraps out of bins.
How is Lucky now?
Well, if you can imagine an incredibly affectionate cat, a super sassy cat, and a totally bizarre cat were rolled up in to one, it would describe Lucky to a T! After 12 months of dedication from her foster family, Lucky is now a nice and plump little being with a beautiful, soft, and puffy coat. She just loves to spend time around those who love her and is very much a part of the family. Lucky currently lives with children aged 5 and 8 and gets along with them well, often spending the day hanging around then while they watch TV or PlayStation.
What homes will she suit?
Lucky will happily live alongside dogs of any size that respect her space. She is unfortunately not cat social and requires a home without other cats as she will attack them, even unprovoked.
Lucky has thick and fluffy fur that will require brushing to prevent mats from forming.
