About Ellie
Ellie (F / 4 years) – Foster Care needed with the view to Adopt
Current Location: Cardinia Shire, Victoria
My name is Ellie, I will be 4 years old on the 2nd of July.
At night I sleep with my humans on their bed and love to lounge around with them all day cuddling up on the couch with them, especially in the winter months.
I’m fully housetrained and know all the basic commands. At night if I need to go to the toilet I’ll wake my humans and let them know, however I do go to the toilet on command at bedtime so I won’t wake you every night.
I can be left alone for small amounts of time, but if I’m left alone too long I will miss you too much, and jump all over you when you come home. I don’t wreck or chew anything in the house or car.
I love going for long or short trips in the car especially when food is involved. The moment I hear your keys I will be ready at the door to go with you.
I love to play tug of war and ball, although I may not always bring it back.
I like to protect my outside environment from birds, I can jump very high and have followed my humans out to the letterbox and helped them put the bins out a few times by climbing our 6 foot fence. For that reason I can only go to a home with 6ft colourbond fence or timber fence with the horizontal bar on the outside ;-)
If I hear my neighbours next door I will often hang my head over the fence to say hello.
I also enjoy playing with my younger and older human siblings, and if anyone in my family cries I’m there to help with lots of kisses and a friendly paw.
I love my food and will come running the moment I hear you in the kitchen, day or night. I do require some raw food like mince in my dinner each night as I can find it hard to put on weight, which makes all my humans jealous of my lean physique. When my food bowl is put in front of me I will sit and wait for the “eat” command, and if I’m left waiting too long displaying my incredible restraint I will dribble and show you an incredible slippery floor.
I have no ongoing health issues except for a seasonal skin irritation that comes out on my neck and armpit, usually only in spring, but a few washes in antibacterial shampoo and it goes away.
Unfortunately I don’t get along well with other animals (big and small) which is why I’m here.
I’m a people dog and only want to be with you so I can get all the attention.
If you don’t have a door bell that’s ok because I’m fully charged all the time and will bark when there’s someone at the door, but once people come into my home and I have space and time to get used to them then I have more laps to sit on and more pats to get.
I can be a timid girl and will need patience in a new environment, but once I know everything is safe, your home will be my home.
