About Mookie
Mookie is an older lady who still has a lot of energy and love to give to her new forever home. At home she is very responsive and has great understanding of commands such as 'sit', 'come here' and 'go to bed'. She is fully toilet trained and will hold on until it's time to go for walks. She loves going for walks twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. However she is also okay with waiting for one long arvo/evening walk if a morning walk isn't possible.
She sleeps inside of the night and if no one is home during the day she stays outside with her bed. Currently Mookie would prefer not to be left alone inside as she might make attempts to open the front door with her paws and in the process can make a little damage. When her foster carer is home Mookie is happily curled up asleep on the floor nearby or on her dog bed. She doesn't really attempt to hop on the bed or couch but if she does she promptly hops off on command.
Mookie is excited on lead and wants to smell all the things so using a harness on walks would be recommended as it has helped with pulling. She is a quick learner and behaves well on lead considering she had little experience with it in her previous home, however she can be overly excited when she sees other dogs and will need some training on this. Mookie hasn't ever shown any aggression on lead but her desire to play can be a little too much for some other dogs so slow distanced introductions are best. Mookie would thrive with some on lead training and re-call training to allow her to safely and politely play with other dogs, of which she she dreams about!
