About Mae
Hi! I'm Mae, that's the name my foster mum gave me after she picked me up from the rescue!
I've had a bit of a rough start in life, a kind lady was feeding me on the street and brought me in to the vet in the hopes that I can have a better future. When I got to the rescue, I was quite shy and timid. But now, I've become a playful, sweet kitty who can't wait to find my own forever home!
I might be quite shy at first and I do tend to shun hands reaching towards me. But give me some time and I promise I'll warm up quickly! I might spend some time hiding away from you, so it'll be good to keep me in a smaller room with no tight spaces for me to hide. Once I build my confidence you'll see more of me around!
I absolutely love head scratches, I'll purr up a storm and knead lots of bread as you scratch my head! I do like to accompany you on your bed as well, I'll sleep right in the middle and you can't sleep around me.
Given I'm a kitten, it's no surprise that I'm very playful. I love all toys, little balls, dangly toys, even your fingers if you use them as bait. Would you please teach me to not attack fingers no matter how tempting they look? I would love to have better cat manners, thank you!
Speaking of manners, I have immaculate toilet manners, I pee and poop in my cat litter and I do a good job covering my business! I eat both dry kibbles and wet food (for kittens), but I definitely favor wet food. yum yum!
I've lived with younger kids at my foster mum's place so I'm used to toddlers who are gentle with me. If you have a little brother or sister for me, I can get used to having them around me, as long as they remain gentle and do not frighten me.
I think I'm pretty good with other cats. I haven't been fussed with my foster mum's resident cats when they hiss at me, in fact I try to get closer to them but too bad they're not interested in making friends. So I might make a great companion to your resident cat!
