About Diesel ~ 6mo Kelpie X (On Trial 19/6/22)
My name is Diesel, I’m a 6 month old Kelpie x. I’m a sweet boy and my foster mum is always
telling me how beautiful I am.
I am a big boy for 6 months old. Before I came into care I lived with many other dogs. I was a
little scared when my foster family first picked me up, but after a couple of days and lots of
love and cuddles from everyone, I became a less anxious and happy boy. I am extremely
inquisitive and love exploring both indoors and outdoors. I like toys, but I also like to share
with my foster family and play with things that might be left on the floor. I love spending
time in the paddock and playing with my foster siblings, but I’m also happy to just laze
around. I love nothing more than to be with my foster family and join in on what they are
doing.
I am slowly learning my name and am very responsive to familiar voices. I have not had
much experience walking on a lead, so I will need some further training with this. My foster
mum is teaching me how to sit and so far, I am doing very well with this. I’m always excited
when my foster parents get home from work because it means I get to come inside and get
lots of cuddles while they talk about their day. I’m a quiet boy and I don’t really bark, I just
like to listen and be with my foster family.
I’m not really sure about the noisy vacuum cleaner yet, but I usually just sit on the lounge while my foster mum vacuums around me. I am very good at going to the toilet outside if you take me out regularly. I am happy to sleep both indoors or outdoors and really love snuggling up to my foster brothers and sisters. I currently live with small and large breed dogs, cats, birds, goats and chickens. I have met the chooks through the fence with little worry, but haven’t been introduced face to face. I also live with young children who absolutely adore me.
My forever family will need to have an active lifestyle and understand that being a working
breed, I will need regular exercise and a larger backyard. I currently live on a farm with
equimesh fencing and have plenty of room to run and toys to play with while my foster
parents are at work. I would love a family that has another dog, as I have never been on my
own. I would love to be welcomed inside when the family is home, so I can really get to
know everyone and be involved in their lives. As I am a big boy who still has some growing
to do, I will need good fencing and a family with children over the age of 4.
