About Axle
Axle is a handsome and sweet natured boy.
He may be a little older but is significantly less arthritic than I am. He is adorably goofy and playful. He enjoys fetch and melts for a good head scratch. He is good with other dogs and has been around horses. He has seen the cats but has not been inside with them/interacted. Is great with our children (10 & 13).
Please read his medical notes below. He has so much life left in him and deserves a loving home. If you think Axle sounds like a good fit please complete an application at www.radarescue.org/adoption
Medical notes
He has unfortunately come to us in less than ideal condition but has progress well with treatment. He has slowly been gaining weight. He is being treated for a chronic infection in both ears. He was untreated for so long his ears have thickened but he can still hear a treat bag being opened from 3 kms away. He has two cysts. They have been biopsied but not removed due to their location. They look a little unsightly but cause him no apparent discomfort.
His coat is starting to look better after the groomers, a flea treatment and a few weeks on a high quality diet.
Additional note: Axle gets super car sick. Prior to going home with anyone we will provide a medication for him to have to avoid a gross welcome home situation.

Adoption details
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website https://radarescue.org/adoption
Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within two weeks of the adoption.
