About Willow
Hi, my name is Willow. As you can see by my photo I'm quite a special girl. But what I lack in legs, I make up for in heart! I have had a very rough start to life which has resulted in me being a very nervous girl who suffers from a lot of anxiety. Once I knew my people, I became a loving and playful girl
I have been lucky enough to spend some time in a Foster home while recovering from my amputation. In that Foster home, I settled in well and benefited from plenty of structure and training, which my new family will need to continue. I still hold a lot of anxiety and fear toward things like strangers, noise, dogs and new places so my new family will need to be very gentle and patient with me, and understand that I may need lifelong management and behaviour modification around these things.
One of my biggest struggles is unknown dogs...my fear causes me to become very reactive toward them. I show this by lunging, backing and putting on a very big display in order to get them away from me. My new owners need to be very responsible around this, and not put me in positions where I may react. I will not b a dog park/dog beach girl, and I need to be the ONLY DOG in my new home. With further training and the help from a professional, I may eventually become more comfortable in their presence but you will need to work with me and be patient.
Due to my anxiety and nervous disposition, I will not be suited to living with young children.
I need a very secure yard and a home with no stairs. Living in a built-up suburban environment would be very overwhelming for me, so a quiet location is a must.
Id you think I might be the dog for you, please apply.
