About Bruce ~ 2.5yr Old Chihuahua (On Trial 01/06/2022)
Bruce is a 2 1/2 year old male Chihuahua and weighs in at a tiny 3.8kg. He is very affectionate and loves to sit on your lap or be nearby at all times. He is cautious when meeting new people and dogs, but soon relaxes and is happy to be their friend. He is very intelligent and protective when it comes to his human family.
He will make a wonderful watchdog and will let you know if there is any stranger danger. He has a plucky outgoing personality and won’t stand down to a bigger dog bullying him.
Bruce is an indoors dog and doesn’t require too much exercise although he does love to walk with us every day. He shares our home with a 2 year old gentle female dog and a female Border Collie who visits regularly. He loves being part of the gang and joins us on all our walks especially our beach runs. He will come with enthusiasm when called, sit and wait for his dinner and is in the process of learning to sit before crossing the road. He can become nervous and bark when dogs approach him on a walk but soon settles when he realises they are friendly.
Bruce has a smooth coat. He needs weekly brushing to help minimise shedding, bathing and nail clipping. He is housetrained and is happily crated at night indoors.
Bruce is an excellent companion who loves attention and is very loyal to his carers. He is a bit nervous travelling in the car, but is improving all the time with every trip we make.
He has not been tested with cats. Bruce is good with children but due to his small size and cautious nature would not be suitable to a busy household with children under 12.
He is fine left at home with our dog inside for several hours at a time but not all day.
Bruce is in foster care in Valentine, NSW (Lake Macquarie). He is only available for adoption within NSW and ACT. Bruce’s adoption fee is $700 which includes all up to date vet work. He is vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and desexed.
