About Archie
About Archie
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Archie is an absolute sweet heart. Gentle, timid and loved by his foster mum very much. It is going to be tough to let this sweet boy go!
Archie had very little contact with people prior to coming into foster so is very timid and shy until he feels safe with new people.
He has absolutely thrived in a home environment with me and 2 puppy siblings.
We let him take settling in and getting to know and love us at his own pace.
There was certainly a lot of anxiety and confusion arriving in a new home but with patience and gentle encouragement to try new things ( like coming inside or going fo a walk), Archie has grown to be a very happy, playful and affectionate part of the family.
The way to this kids heart is absolutely through his belly! He is very food motivated and that was how we started to build his trust and show him it’s pretty great to meet new people!
He loves treats, scratches behind the ear and cuddling up to snooze at my feet when I’m working at my desk or next to me on the lounge to catch up on Netflix.
Its taken time, patience and understanding of how scary a new environment can be to get him to where he is now, but it’s been so worth the time and effort to watch him grow into a happy, social and playful pup ready to find his forever home.
It’s been a pretty amazing transformation to watch this sweet happy boy learn to be part of a family, to feel safe, gain confidence to come out of his shell and experience a whole new world of love with a family.
My Ideal Home:
Definitely necessary to have at least one other pup to play and socialise with. Not suited to be an only dog.
I think he would be the most comfortable with a single or a couple rather than a big family.
His new family will need to be patient and encouraging as he will need time, love and reassurance in a new home to feel safe as he settles in.
He can get anxious and scared in new situations so he will need a little bit of time and lots of love and treats to feel safe and come out of his shell as he settles in to show you his sweet goofy personality.
Lots of company/ toys/ entertainment to keep this smart boy entertained. A playful pup sibling to play with and look to for reassurance and guidance.
Welcome inside as part of the family. He loves to be where ever you are so not really a dog that would do well left for long periods alone outside alone.
What is Known About My Background:
Archie was part of a large pack living on a rural property. His interaction with people was very limited prior to coming into care. He has always been surrounded by other dogs and is not suited to be an only dog.
He has blossomed in care. He is still quite timid with new people but has otherwise taken to life as a spoilt house pup like a duck to water.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
Archers response when scared is to drop to the ground and submit or run away. He gets on really well with my dominant female staffy. They play together all day
