Rambo is a very sweet and loyal boy that wants to belong. He would be a great companion as he loves his people and being part of the family.
He lost his world when his person became unwell and has been living in the garage and feeling a bit lonely. However, within a short space of time, he has thrived at his foster home, loving being part of things and enjoying the company of his people and two dogs.
At first Rambo appears shy but with a little love and patience he has come out of his shell quickly - wagging his tail, smiling and letting off a little bark of excitement. He fits in well and lounges around during the day, letting his foster mum work. This makes us think that he would transition well into a calm environment.
He is a little wary when first touched, but gentle kisses and pats on his forehead from his foster carer have won him over and he lovingly follows her around with his big soulful eyes. He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to be let out and sleeps through the night.
He is a spritely guy who loves his walks and is good on a lead. He hasn't had a lot of interaction with other dogs, so can be a bit reactive when out and about, especially with bigger dogs, so this is a work in progress. He does at times bark at people passing by his house if he sees them. However, the fact that he loves being part of a gang at his foster carers indicates that with time and training, he will be okay.
Rambo is good with older people and visitors in general. When his environment gets a bit too loud and exciting, Rambo can find it a little overwhelming and shows his discomfort with a little growl. However, he can calm down quickly in these situations.
Rambo's foster carers feel he will only continue to grow in confidence in a stable and loving environment, bringing much joy to his lucky forever family. He melts their hearts, and they say it's impossible not to want to shower him with affection.
Rambo's ideal forever home will provide a calm environment where he is included and part of the family. One where he is an inside dog and can be around his people. He would prefer a home where someone is around more often than not and he will be equally happy with a doggy friend or on his own.
Are you the best forever home for Rambo? He thinks so. He can't wait to meet you!

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
