About Missy - Located in Preston
Missy is a beautiful, soft-furred mature lady who has had a tough life so
far, and is looking to spend her retirement years in the lap(s) of luxury.
She is a sweet, relaxed cat who likes to keep her human companions to
herself (no other furry family members please). In every other way she is
very easy going: she loves her food, loves a gentle game with cute toys, is
calm around strangers, and isn't easily bothered by whatever is going on
around her.
After spending too much time having fun in the sun, Missy unfortunately has
had to have cancerous growths removed from part of both ears, which is why
her profile is a little different to other cats. She needs to remain an
indoor cat now to protect her from any further damage. As a mature lady,
she also needs to be kept warm and cosy, with soft beds to snooze upon.

Before applying to meet one of our cats, please ensure that
- you have the agreement of all members of the household to adopt a Cat
- you have your landlords permission to keep a pet. More information on what to do is available at https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/renting/applying-for-a-rental-property-or-room/pets-and-renting
- you have all the necessary bits and pieces to welcome your new family member, starting with a cat carrier to bring them home, a litter tray, litter, food and bowls as well as a bed, toys and scratchers
- you are ready to welcome them home NOW. We are unable to hold a cat for you if you are not ready to adopt.

Medical notes
Missy has a condition called Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). She is on a twice daily medication called Felimazole for life which controls this condition. She will need blood tests every 6 months to ensure the symptoms are well controlled. Her next blood test is due in September 2022.
Typical of an older girl Missy suffers from arthritis in her hips and has spondylosis between two of her vertebrae in her spine. She has recently started a daily joint supplement called 4Cyte to keep her comfortable and may also benefit from starting Cartrophen Injections in the future.
Missy has had her teeth cleaned in May 2022 and had both of her ear pinnae removed due to skin cancer after years spent out in the sun. It will be important to keep an eye out for any more sun spots appearing on what is left of her ears and her nose in the future.
