About Okie
Okie is an eighteen month old Koolie boy who started life on cattle farm. He and a number of dogs from the same property were surrendered to Pawfect Pals as they were not suited to working cattle.
Okie's favourite things are cuddles and pats, and he will follow his chosen human around everywhere. He is a social boy with other dogs too and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. Okie is good on lead and with stock, and he has a sharp mind and is learning quickly. He has not been tested with cats, but is fine with the chickens in his foster home. His house training is getting better every day, he sits, shakes hands and goes to bed on command. And his recall is awesome! While he enjoys exercise, Okie is not an overactive boy. He is yet to discover toys. He does not jump or dig but will ‘talk’ to you when you get home.
Okie is looking for a home with someone who will have plenty of time to spend with him and perhaps with a laidback canine friend too (though he prefers human companionship over other dogs). He needs a home who are committed to his ongoing training and exercise (at least one walk a day). He would be best in a home with out children as he can be a bit skittish of sudden movements, teenagers would be fine.
Okie has had a rough start to life but is coming along in leaps and bounds, and is ready to move on to his forever home with someone who can love him as much as he will love them!
If you think you could offer Okie the home he longs for, please submit an application!
