Leo Black

Leo is a handsome sensitive gentleman who is bit shy to start off with, but opens up pretty quickly. He is independant, easy and an affectionate boy who wants to hang out either on you, next to you or near you on the couch depending on his mood. He uses his paw to ask for attention and will climb into your lap for a good pat and snuggle session in the evenings after dinner.

He would love to sleep with you in bed at night, either right next to you or near your feet. He sleeps through the night and is able to keep himself busy until you wake up.

Even though he's almost 8 years old (his birthday is on 15th September), he loves to play with sparkly wand toys and gives them a good chase, he is even known to do a couple of somersaults in his pursuit. A couple of 10-15 mins play sessions a day will keep this boy very happy.

When you are unable to entertain him, he is more than happy to entertain himself with his toys, watching the world go by on the balcony or sleeping the day off on a nice plush blanket.

He will get along with other cats as long as they don't play rough, however he will thrive as an only cat. Definitely no dogs, he was bitten in the past by one and they scare him.

He loves his raw food (especially chicken) and canned feline naturals. He is currently eating a mix of proudi raw patties, feline naturals canned and raw chicken with meal completer. He also has a chicken neck every week or so to keep his teeth in excellent condition. He can be a bit picky with food, but will end up eating what's on offer.

Poached chicken pieces are the best way to win this man's heart and he will love you in return with his numerous biscuits, purrs, cute little meows and snuggles.

Note: His precious owner indicated Leo had some litter and unwanted scratching issues when stressed. No such behaviour has been seen in his foster home. Leo will need a calm and quiet environment.

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from Cat People of Melbourne. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
