About Rory
Hi there, I'm Rory, I am five months old and I'm a red Australian Cattle Dog X. I'm a very happy little chappy, love being with my foster mum inside, outside - wherever she is, that's where you will find me. She calls me her little velcro pup.
I am looking for my forever home with an older retired couple, a single person or a family with a teenager who will take me with them and want me as a companion. I have a bit of the typical cattle dog in me but I am the type that is more gentle, made for smooching and cuddling, not herding cows about the paddock. I do get worried by loud noises as they frighten me so I'd like a nice quiet home either in the country or the city but not near noisy main roads or neighbours. I have very good manners as foster mum has put quite a bit of training into me and you will need to continue with this, I'd love to go to obedience classes so we can learn all about things together. If you don't really want to commit to formal training, then I am not the boy for you.
Playing with other dogs is so much fun and they sure wear me out so I need my nap after playtime. If they get too rough I don't enjoy that and go and find some place to hide. If I like my playing partner we can get quite crazy and do zoomies all over the park. I am a typical puppy and will try to chew on anything but I am learning that not everything is meant to be chewed! I am quite fond of children but do get very excited and forget that I'm not supposed to jump on them and when they squeal it really frightens me, I don't like that. I do feel the cold, so I am an inside only at night time or on cold days type of pup. I travel really well, love looking out the window and watching or snoozing as the world goes by.
I am learning pretty fast not to pull on my lead when we go walking, I know how to sit at the kerb and wait for my command to go again and I am house trained and crate trained for night time. I would love to do beach and bush walks, I love it when foster mum takes me down the river and I can splash about in the water. We would need to do some recall training together for us to be able to do big adventures where I can sniff out bunnies and chase seagulls at the beach.
If you are looking for a cute and cuddly future bigger dog companion that loves adventures as much as you do, get your application in now so I can come live with you.
