Look at that face! What's not to love?! Meg is an old farm retiree who is used to mustering and keeping busy. She is learning to slow down at our house but loves adventures on the daily. Meg has good recall and likes to stay by her humans side.
Meg is not a big barker, so if you're look for a guard dog she may not be the best fit.
Meg is agile and a good jumper however she has never tried to jump the fence, but loves to get in the ute for an outing. Meg needs firm boundaries until she understands the rules. She is currently learning to walk on a lead but loves to be off lead exploring so a property would be ideal.
Meg can be nervous around dogs she doesn't know or isn't used to, so would suit being the only dog in the family. She did grow up on a farm however with lots of different dogs, so with time, patience and appropriate introductions she could do well with a dog sibling to teach her some things (however, this would preferably be an older male, rather than another female dog).
She can also get a bit of separation anxiety and I think a dog-sibling could be helpful for this, although a bone does seem to do the trick just fine! Coming from a working farm, Meg doesn't know much about playing, the beach, or water play so again someone to show her the ropes may be helpful but not essential.
Meg is very food orientated and so is very trainable. She knows basic commands sit, and stay, and will wait for her food. However struggles to stay on her mat in the front door when we leave the living space, she just wants to be close!
The longer we have Meg the more she comes out of her shell, she loves a cuddle and a belly scratch and would make a wonderful addition to lots of families and households.
Meg is $300 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, heartworm checked and given flea, tick and worm preventatives.
