About Darla ~ 6mo Border Collie X (Re.Apps 26/05/2022)
Darla, Darla, Darla! That’s the name on everyone’s lips after they meet this beautiful 6-
month-old, Border Collie X bundle of pure joy. Darla is the most affectionate, loveable, and
sweet girl anyone who has the pleasure of meeting her will tell you. She gets lots of positive
attention wherever she goes and it’s easy to see why!
Darla just LOVES people and other dogs of all ages. She is very gentle yet energetic and is
most happy playing with other dogs, her human friends and her toys. Her favourite things to
do are going for her daily walks to the park or beach where she can be social and get all her
energy out, playing with anyone and anything, cuddles and belly rubs and naps on the sofa
with her foster mum!
Since coming into care, Darla has already learnt to sit, wait for her food, stay, come, get
down, retrieve a ball and ‘no.’ She walks perfectly on the lead and has excellent recall. Darla
is highly intelligent and is very quick to learn new commands. Darla is now fully toilet
trained and will use the dog door to go outside.
Darla’s lucky forever family will need to have an active lifestyle where she can join them on
trips to the park, beach, cafes, etc. She will need daily exercise and lots of mental
stimulation, so she doesn’t start digging up the garden! Darla loves to play and run so needs
a home with a spacious back yard and secure fencing. She sleeps inside so will need a warm
cosy place to go when she’s done playing outside. As Darla gets along very with all dogs she
meets, she would love a home with another younger dog to play with. However, she would
also be happy to be welcomed into a family as an only dog as long as she is gets to be
involved in her new family’s everyday life.
Please remember, before applying for Darla, that having a dog as a pet is a 15+ year
commitment.
