ABOUT NARA
Nara is looking for her special humans – could it be you? Nara needs to take her time learning her humans' routine in a low-demand/attention manner. Nara is not a lap dog and doesn’t expect a great deal of attention from her people at first and doesn’t really understand that snuggles and cuddles are really quite nice but has been learning from her doggy housemates that a pat can be a pleasant thing and play is fun. Not suitable for cats or kids. Nara is not a fence jumper and has been responding very positively to crate training and the company of other dogs. Initially more comfortable around men and working on her sensitivity to loud noises/motors, Nara has shown herself to be an intelligent girl who is willing to learn new things with patient, calm and consistent encouragement from her people.
Far from your normal border collie cross type, Nara is not a farm dog or particularly suitable for your more typical ‘family dog’ role – we feel she would make a great tradie's mate to come along in your ute-cage (free tethering is not advised) or car and keep an eye on your tools for you, or as company for a similar sized dog or two. Nara needs quite some time simply observing her humans, but once trust has been established is obedient and willing to continue her training. Nara’s foster family have been working with her to desensitize her to the excitement of loud noises, and crate training, and we encourage her new family to continue with this. Nara plays well with other dogs her size and learns a lot from them.
