~ Meet Niko ~

Bouncy boy Niko arrived at Socares in excellent condition, wearing a collar, was microchipped and desexed, yet no one returned our calls to reclaim him.

At one point in time Niko has been loved and taught how to sit, shake and drop. Unfortunately this isn’t a rare thing to see happen in the pound and once loved dogs get abandoned.

Being abandoned has had an effect on Niko. He has started to eat his bedding from the anxiety of being in our pound environment. We believe this behaviour will stop once Nico is in a loving home with a new family who won’t let him down again.

Niko is a lovely natured boy who is full of energy and likes to explore and sniff everything! He certainly has a cheeky side…. Niko loves his plush toys so much that he likes to run away with them in his mouth. He enjoys playing this game but Niko happily lets you take them from him.

Other pets: Niko is very dog friendly, maybe a little over friendly at times as all he wants to do is play and wrestle with his doggy mates. He never stops playing! Timid or elderly dogs certainly won’t share his same enthusiasm for playing so it is recommended Niko is rehomed with a dog who can match his energy levels.

When Niko met a cat he didn’t really know what he was seeing. It appears as though he has never met a cat before. When a cat hissed at him he couldn’t get away fast enough and tried to run out of the room. It is possible Niko could be rehomed with a cat but not left alone with them until they have established a good relationship.

Type of home: Because Niko is a very bouncy boy he isn’t suitable to be rehomed with small children or the elderly. His new family must be active and have the time to provide gorgeous Niko with enough exercise and play to keep him happy & healthy. Niko requires a home with solid 6ft fencing.

Niko’s adoption fee covers: Microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea & worming treatments.
