About Suzy ๐บ 3yo, Chihuahua x(On Trial 23/7/22)
Suzy is a very sweet and affectionate 3yo, Chihuahua x Mini Foxy. ๐ถ. She likes to curl up on your lap and be close to you. She enjoys being with people, playing with small dogs, and exploring the garden. She makes it her mission to chase birds out of the garden. She doesn't play with toys but she tries her best to persuade the other little dogs she lives with to play with her. Unfortunately, they're all older and not interested. Suzy would dearly love to have another friendly, little dog to play with. ๐
Suzy walks very nicely on a harness and lead and looks forward to going for a 20-minute walk most days. She isn't suitable to go to dog parks or to be let off lead. She needs to have a grassy yard, a small one will do, so she's not suited to apartment living. She can be a little bit shy when she meets strangers but if they are calm and sit down and don't rush her, she quickly wants to be their friend.
She barks at some outside noises but isn't a nuisance barker. She is good in the car ๐. She saw a cat through a fence once and was curious but that's the only exposure she's had to cats so if you have a cat, she'd have to be properly tested.
๐ Suzy is very much an inside girl and needs to be welcome inside, on your furniture, and sleep inside. She sleeps in her dog bed in her foster carer's bedroom all night. She is well house trained. She is fine left at home alone inside for a several hours at a time but not all day. So, we're looking for a home where there is someone who doesn't work full-time.
Suzy has a very soft, medium length coat. She needs regular brushing, bathing, and nail clipping. She very small, only 4.3kgs.
Suzy is good with children but due to her small size and shy nature she isn't suitable to a busy household with children under 12. She likes small visitors though, but only if they are old enough to be very, very gentle and calm around her and don't try to pick her up. Suzy will be happy to sit with them when they sit down.
Suzy was surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle when her guardian could no longer look after her.
โ We are looking for a forever home for Suzy where there is someone home a lot, who will make her a big part of their lives; to love her, play with her, take her for a short walk most days, and let her sit on their lap. It would be good but not required, if you have another small, friendly dog to be her companion. ๐บ
Suzy is in foster care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). โญ๏ธShe is only available for adoption within NSW and ACT. Suzy's adoption fee is $700 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas & worms, vet checked, and microchipped.
๐ If you would like Suzy to be your loyal companion, we need you to please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt

Medical notes
Suzy has been vet checked. She has a slightly slipping knee cap in one leg but it's very minor. This is common in small dogs. She isn't on any medication.
