Basil

Hi! I’m Basil. I’m a loyal and obedient 3-year-old border collie. I have my favourite humans and dog friends and I stick to them like glue. I'm searching for a quiet but active home with a playful female dog (preferably border collie) for company.

I'm a very clever boy and have lovely doggie manners. I sit & wait to be told to eat my food; I wait to be invited inside or on the lounge and bed; come when called & stay when asked. I do chase moving vehicles along the fence line if I'm not supervised. If foster mum calls my name, I stop and immediately return to her side. I'm easily redirected back to foster mum on command. I prefer no other dogs around my food bowl. I sleep quietly inside on my dog bed and don't make a peep until morning. I'm fully house trained & know to go outside & use the lawn.

I like to chase the ball, play with soft toys and I enjoy a good game of chasey with my foster siblings. I'm partial to belly rubs and will insist on these a few times a day. I love the beach and going for a swim.

I need an active home preferably a home on property or a breed experienced home that can keep me both mentally and physically challenged in a quiet environment. I would love a home where I can come inside and be part of the family. Loud voices worry me, so a calm home will be best for me. I am very unsure around younger children so home without kids under 15-years is a must.

I'm looking for a family or special human who is dedicated to my ongoing obedience training and socialisation with known friendly canines to help me continue to be the best boy I can be. I will also need regular grooming to keep my coat in good condition and to keep me comfortable.
