About Chief
- Meet Chief -
Handsome man Chief arrived at SoCares as a microchipped stray and unfortunately his owner wasn’t in a position to be able to reclaim him.
Recently this cheeky man was transferred from our Charmhaven Shelter to our Erina Shelter which did not faze him at all. Staff brought him into the office to give him some snuggles and he jumped straight up onto the office chair and then onto the office table making himself right at home.
Chief loves to say hello to everyone he sees. His tail wags a million miles an hour and his little butt wiggles from side to side. It’s very cute to witness.
Chief does need some training to correct his enthusiasm when walking on lead but his love of food and treats is a great way to gain his focus to make training easier. He is a clever boy and already knows his basic commands.
Chief loves playing with water and the hose as well as plush toys. He likes to play tug of war and get can vocal, however he will drop the toy if asked. The noise he makes isn’t him being aggressive, it’s a play growl and is very common in staffys.
Sex: Male
Breed: English Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross
Size: Medium
Adoption Fee: $450
Location: Erina Shelter
Colour: White with black spots
Personally: Lovable Boy
Toilet Trained: No
Other pets: When Chief met a cat he dropped to the ground and had his hackles up. He didn’t bark at the cat and he looked to the handler for reassurance. We believe Chief is best not to be rehomed with a feline friend at this stage.
Chief is a very solid dog and can be dominant while playing with other canine friends. If Chief was to go to a home with another canine companion they must be able to tolerate the way Chief plays. He isn’t aggressive towards other dogs, he just likes set the level of play. If you have a small, timid or elderly dog, Chief would not be a suitable playmate.
Type of household: Chief loves his humans and is the most loyal boy. His new family must allow him within the family home and have an active lifestyle to keep this precious boy happy and healthy. Chief has a tendency to snatch treats. This is an area that will need correction and small children would need to be closely monitored if food is present.
Chief's adoption fee covers: microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, up to date vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
If you have a perfect home for adorable Chief, we would like to hear from you. Please lodge your interest.
