About Shade
Grab a cuppa and sit down because there's so much to tell you about beautiful SHADE, an affectionate, intelligent and well-trained kelpie/blue cattle dog born on 16 May 2018.
First and foremost, Shade is a very people-focused dog. She loves the company of humans, including children, and is devoted to her human family. Loyal, eager to please and protective, she wants someone to love, whether that's an individual, a couple or a family. She would make an attentive and loving canine companion or family dog.
Shade has mastered basic obedience and responds to verbal commands and hand signals. Check out one of the videos for a demonstration of her skills. She is lead-trained, but is inclined to pull a little on an ordinary lead, although she walks perfectly on a halti collar.
Shade has always lived with other dogs and will play happily with most dogs she meets, especially if given a proper introduction (always recommended). At home, however, she is inclined to herd other dogs away from her human family, as if to say "they're mine", so she may be better suited to being an "only child".
As you can see from one of the videos, she's very cat-friendly and has lived successfully with two cats in her previous home.
Playful and reasonably energetic, Shade loves to chase a ball, but her all-time favourite activity is swimming and surfing. She can be quite adventurous in the water. See the video of her at the beach.
Accustomed to being an inside-outside dog, Shade is completely house-trained and when she goes to bed at night - inside, of course - you don't hear a peep from her until morning.
She is not suited to full-time workers and would do best in a home where her humans are around most of the time. She is not a fence jumper, but as always, secure fencing is essential. Prior breed experience will be highly regarded.
Healthy and very well cared for by her previous owners, Shade is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and her adoption fee is $595.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) The "meet and greet" is held in Warwick, Queensland. If successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
