About Marcus
Hi Future Family Iām Marcus, and you guessed it, I am a Kelpie cross and I have just turned 2 years old (I hear I might get cake for my next birthday?!).
I have oodles of energy and love interacting with my carers with whatever they are doing. You should see how quickly my bum wiggles when I am excited to see them, but don't worry I always remember manners first and now know not to jump up.
I have been introduced to the horses, big and small, and although they were scary at first, I am so used to them now I actually try and herd them! I can't let my horse friends have all the fun so I have learnt to jump over the dressage jumps in my carers arena, my next trick I want to learn is how to go around in circles like the horses! My carer also likes to run sometimes so I run with her and I am learning real hard not to trip her up! Do you like trail running? I would love to come with you!!
As you can see, I am a working dog and I need an active family - I wonāt disappoint. I am very smart and currently getting daily training and learning so much. I sit and stay when I am told. I am learning to heel on the lead for our daily walks on the farm and up the road and I am busting at the seams to learn more. My carer says I am super eager to please, so come on, bring me the next challenge!!
I am such a good boy at meal times. I sit patiently while my dinner is being prepared and then I wait to be told that I can actually eat it! I let my carer know when people come to visit by giving a bark, but once I am told it is okay, I am quiet. I really am a good boy and cannot wait to learn more from you.
Guess what I am also learning, toys are FUN! My foster mum brought these cool new balls and stuff and apparently I can enjoy the time with these things whenever I like!!
Have you caught on that I realllllly love to learn?!
Because I like to see my surroundings and what is going on, my safe haven is my nice toasty warm bed in the hay barn at the front of the house. I now have the sexiest of dog coats and I reckon I look pretty darn smart, so much so I reckon I could be the next James Bond side kick!
I am best suited to a home away from the hustle and bustle - I am NOT suited to inner city living or homes with feathers. I would be okay with a quite outer suburbs home or acreage. I would also suit a single dog home or a home with another doggy friend. Regardless of where I land my paws, you will need to do a proper dog introduction otherwise I get a bit scared of new dogs in my space. I have learnt other dogs can be good friends so if you can give me the continued training, I would love to grow old with fur and humans.
If I sound like I may fit in with your family, pretty please send in an application today!
