About Kigi
Meet KIGI, he’s almost two. He’s been with with his human carers for several weeks and has proven to be a very loyal and loving companion. He’s starting to learn how to walk on lead, and has progressed very well.
Kigi can perform basic commands, “Sit”, "Wait" (for his dinner to be served) “Stop” when walking, “Walk” when it’s time to start again, and he’s well house trained.
He’s very smart as he can do some tricks, like, lay down and very long patience when a treat is placed near him and he’s asked to “Wait”! He sleeps well and understands the command “go to bed”.
Kigi’s to learn list:
1. Be more calm with new people and playmates, (he gets over happy with new friends).
2. Return the ball.
His fun time is:
1. Walking his humans; he still tends to pull a little, but he's learning.
2. Running free at the weir.
3. Playing Tug rope, and he loves it when he wins and brings it back for another round.
His best times are relaxing on the couch and cuddles. Dinner time, snacks, food, and a late night yogurt treat before bed. He loves sleep time! And sleeps very well at night, in his own bed.
He doesn’t bark much at all. He needs a big yard, and owners who understand the Kelpie breed and it’s needs, maybe another dog mate.
Kigi loves small humans, but still gets very excited when he sees them, so probably older kids. He’s starting to love bath time.
His best points are:
1. Loving, happy, playful
2. Travels exceptionally well in the car,
3. Tries his best at obedience, (learning fast).
4. Needs a big walk each day and/or brain work, has lots of energy.
His not so good:
Way too easily excited, and still jumps a bit much when he meets new humans.
Kigi is very happy were he is, but he needs a forever home that has lots of time for him, maybe a retired person or couple who, can spend the time to teach him more, as he’s so keen to learn. Kigi needs someone who can give him attention and lots of love like his carers, but forever.
