About Misty
The beautiful, bubbly bouncy Misty is now seeking her forever home! Could you be the right fit!!
Australian Kelpie x
1 year
Misty joined out little family a few weeks ago and has fit in like a glove ! She trolled in like she owned the place and sheâd been there before. Full of beans, full of energy and full of character. But sadly the time has come where she is searching for her forever family and believe me, Misty is not one to disappoint.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR ENQUIRY
Misty is definitely an intelligent girl! When she came to us, she already had the basic commands up her sleeve! She sits when told, shakes both her paws, walks beautifully on the lead and waits for her dinner! What more could we have asked for. Someone willing to dedicate time to further training Misty is ideal as she has the potential to be one smart cookie!
Obedience: Like mentioned above, Misty already has the basic commands down pat. She is still young and thereâs still so much to be learnt. Mix this with the right companion and itâs a win! Treats are definitely a like with Misty so this will help the keen trainer.
Enrichment: As Misty is still such a young pup thereâs a lot more learning and developing to do. Misty loves playing with other dogs and her human companions, is very easily excited, loves a good chew toy and has been seen trying to sneak some of the kids toys out of their rooms! The excitement seemed a lot in the beginning and Misty would bark to show how much fun she was having, however with a few simple commands, that has eased off and sheâs not as boisterous anymore. Misty is going to require her human companions to be home with her during the day or have a fur brother with the same level of energy as Misty to keep her occupied throughout the day. Being left home alone would not be a good option or fit fo her.
Sleeping: Misty has been an inside dog from day dot with us and has shown (again her intelligence) to be fully house trained. No accidents have happened indoors. She is able to alert us when she needs to go out, and unfortunately when itâs too cold outdoors, sheâs not too keen on going out and takes a lot of encouragement. With us she has been lucky enough to share the kids rooms to where sheâll sleep for the night. She has her own cozy bed on the floor but of course chooses the warm beds and snuggles in closely with the kids!
Socialisation: Misty settled in extremely quick and adapted to her temporary life with her 2 fur brothers. As Misty has a world of energy, she needs a fur brother to be able to keep up with her! She loves to play fight, jump around, chase each other through the yard and absolutely loves the toys! A definite male companion around a similar age is ideal. A family with children also around the same age (10 +) would be ideal as Misty is still young, quite jumpy and will sometimes forget sheâs not so little and knock you over. Smaller children wouldnât be ideal for this reason.
Food: Misty has maintained a regular diet of both dry food and prime since her arrival with us. She is currently fed twice daily (morning and night) to maintain a healthy weight. Misty enjoys her daily walks to also help burn off some extra energy. Misty walks perfectly on the lead however can often be distracted by other dogs she is unknown too and become quite pully. This is something further training would fix.
Travel/Car: Misty has been having no trouble travelling within the car. She is quite excited to jump in and out of the car however will need a harness for the car as she likes to be nosy and check out her whole surroundings.
Ideal home: Misty is such a beautiful young girl and will make any family extremely happy and full! Children would be great as long as they are older as mentioned above she can forget just how not so little she is. A home with another male dog of similar age and energy level is a must! Misty needs someone to play with and be able to maintain her socialisation skills. A family that included her inside is also a must for Misty. She is definitely a snuggly girl and just wants your love and attention at all times. Someone that works a lot or hasnât the time for Misty need not apply.
Misty is sure to complete your home and bring you all such love, happiness and joy! She just needs to find her right fit!
