About Frank
Hello potential new family!
My name is Frank! When I came into care I had no name and the rescue did a big poll asking for name suggestions - they read out heaps of names to me and I selected Frank (that's the story my foster mum is sticking too - it could be that I simply got hungry so thought she said food)
So my name is Frank and I am 2 years and 6 months old
My foster mum says I am only what could be described as a big goofy love bug who has no concept of personal space or boundaries but will reward you with a big hug and smoochy kiss.

So the rescue said I need to tell you about me hmmmm well lets see okay here goes
I am a bulldog so yep you betcha I love my humans! I am a big goofy ball who has no idea that being 34.9kgs is not the same thing as being 3.49kg when it comes to giving you cuddles on your lap, sitting on the couch with you or jumping up on the bed of a morning to say good morning.
I love to back up in your lap and sit down - nothing beats a good cuddle
I probably should advise you this from the beginning so that you don't fall too far in love with me but I mean come on how could you not - when I came into care I was a bit of a pee marker - they got me something called the snip and I am working on not marking every blade of grass and every piece of outdoor furniture I possibly can.
I also love being around my humans so much so I am looking for a home that knows all about bulldogs who will let me be inside when I want and outside when I want. I would love a home where someone either works from home or is at home and can just chill with me. I love to sit with my human and give them my paw to hold – my foster mum says it’s super cute.
I am dog friendly but because I’m 34.9kgs and an enthusiastic boy it can sometimes be too much for other dog. I would be very happy also being an only dog where I can have the monopoly on my humans affection. I am currenlty in care with 2 other big breed dogs and 2 small breeds.
My foster mum says I am really good on a lead while I am a good walking buddy I am very strong so need to be mindful of that and would need some consistent ongoing training.
I am thinking I will probably need to go with kids that either can bounce if I accidentally run into them with my boof head or kids over 8 that can brace on impact – my mind does tell me to stop a good pace away from them but the momentum on my chunky body does mean I still keep propelling forward for a minute - oops!
But in saying that I am a bulldog so you know what they say – why go around when I can go thru it!
My foster mum says I have a healthy appetite and while I have manners I could also easily enter a pie eating contest and not break concentration or speed!
I haven't been tested with cats and I think I would probably end up sitting on one and squishing them accidentally so cats may not be in my future
Being a bulldog I will need to have access to air conditioning and do very much enjoy sleeping inside – I have a dog bed that I’m happy to catch my beauty sleep on.
I enjoy good food but do have to be mindful of not getting fed lots of treats – it goes straight to my hips! I don't want to admit it but I could probably lose a few kilos (my foster mum says that every day when she feeds me - something about moderation and we will get there).
My foster mum says considering how big a boof head I am sometimes I am super gentle with taking food and will follow instructions beautifully if it means getting my dinner.
I love people but do get sad when they get scared of me cause I’m a bulldog I’m not scary at all – my foster mum says I’m just a love bug. I am used to being able to have a nap mostly of a morning, lunchtime and evening (hee hee) and in between all that a play.
I am happy to ride shot gun (okay yeah I know back seat only) in the car with you - I will keep you company for hours while you drive.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
