Boomer

Boomer is an amazing 3 and a half year old American Staffy who has a very outgoing and happy personality. He is on the lookout for his forever home where he can feel safe and loved.

Personality:
Boomer is a very happy dog who just loves to be around people and get cuddles. He is unfazed by other dogs and cats – he even made friends with the clinic cats when he spent time at Sweet Pea! He loves trips to the beach, playing with other doggy friends and then a big snuggle on the couch after a long day. His little staffy smile will melt your heart and he is such a joy to be around.

Boomer’s story:
Boomer has been known to Sweet Pea Animal Rescue since he was a young puppy. He became well known around the local community as he used to take himself on little adventures and was often bought into Sweet Pea so that he was safe. Many sad contributing factors led to Boomer’s situation and eventually, his young owner made the very hard decision to surrender him. He spent some time at Sweet Pea, where he was put on medication to help support his severe anxiety. He is currently in a wonderful foster care home where he is thriving and has come off his medication. His confidence has grown and he loves his foster parents so much. Boomer’s future is looking bright and now all he needs is a loving forever family to continue to support him.

Ideal forever home:
Boomer’s ideal forever home will have a safe and secure yard that he can spend time running around and playing in. He needs to be able to have daily exercise and a family that will include him in their activities. We have not observed him around children, but believe he would fit in with children over the age of 6. A K9 companion would be good to provide him with some company if he was left at home, but he would also suit being an only dog if he is not left at home for long periods of the day. He is very smart and knows his basic commands well, but consistency and a good routine will improve this. He will always pay you back for all your efforts in kisses and cuddles!

He has thrived in his foster care home with some stability and routine which has helped him to overcome his separation anxiety. He is an absolutely adorable doggo, who just can’t wait to find his forever home.
