Whoppa is a fun, goofy pup who is looking for an active home with another playful canine
companion. He’s a big friendly boy who thinks that all dogs are his play pals, but is gradually learning manners and patience. His “larger than life” personality means that he has a whole lot of love to give, but needs some boundaries put into place of how to calmly express his emotions- he just loves a good cuddle.
He wants nothing more than to be involved in whatever is going on, and his exuberance will need to be managed as part of his ongoing training. With a clever mind and lots of puppy energy, Whoppa’s new family will need to be able to provide daily exercise and mental stimulation such as food puzzles, games, and training. Whoppa also suffers from separation anxiety so will need a family where someone is home majority of the time and who understands it will take some extra training.
to help him feel comfortable being alone. At the moment, Whoppa tends to look for things to steal and chew when he’s left alone; and he likes a challenge! For this reason, a compatible resident dog, who could also exhaust some physical and mental energy, as well as help Whoppa learn boundaries, is highly favoured. He’s still getting the hang of sharing his toys and tends to want whatever his dog friends are playing with; but we won’t snap, instead, he just lets out a few little sooks while waiting for his turn.
At 11 months old, as his name suggests, Whoppa is a large dog who would appreciate a big yard to stretch his legs. He is responding well to positive reward-based training, as he is very food motivated. Whoppa currently knows how to sit and wait for his food, but is still learning to contain his excitement when he knows you’re preparing his meal. Being quite strong, he is improving with his lead walking, using a front clip harness, and is proving to be very responsive to training.
Whoppa has undergone a double cherry eye removal procedure
With a lot of love and patience, Whoppa will no doubt blossom into the best loyal companion!
