About Ginny ~ 1yr Old Cattle Dog X (On Trial 02/06/2022)
Meet the sweet and adoring Ginny! She is full of love and affection, ready to give to a new family who can give the same back to her.
Ginny is a 1 year old Cattle X, who came into care as a very shy and scared girl from her previous living situation. Ginny has gained confidence in her foster home, and loves receiving pats and attention, and will give her little stumpy tail a wag to show you she's happy. Ginny is still timid, and will need time and patience while she adjusts to new people and surroundings, and be allowed to come to you in her own time. Although she doesn't take too long to come out of her shell and show you that beautiful smile!
She is a medium sized girl, although smaller than a normal sized Cattle dog. She is good with other dogs once properly introduced, as long as they aren't in her face and understand her cues to give space. Ideally she would love a doggy companion in her new home that is mostly calm but happy for the occasional playtime. Ginny isn't interested in toys, but loves a walk and she does so beautifully on a lead and harness. A short walk everyday would be great for her, and being allowed inside to be near her humans is important.
Ginny does have some separation anxiety, which is helped by having a doggy friend to be outside with while you are gone, and ideally someone who is at home at least part time. She would also do well with a retired person or couple that can give her lots of attention and a quiet home. A secure yard with no gaps and minimum 4ft fencing would be best.
Ginny is ok left outside, but does love the indoor life so she needs to be able to be inside to be around her family some of the day and sleep inside. She is scared of storms so needs a enclosed safe space to go (a kennel with blankets) if the weather is bad and she cannot be inside or access a doggy door. She stays on her bed all night, and she is mostly toilet trained (has only had a few accidents inside but she normally waits until she is let outside to toilet).
Ginny would be ok with children, as long as they understand that she does not like loud noises, needs space and does not always want to be touched and cuddled, so older kids would be best. She rarely barks, but can jump up sometimes when excited.
Her coat requires a regular brush down at home, but her grooming needs are minimal other than bathing and nail clipping as needed.
Ginny's adoption fee is $500 which includes all up to date vet work. She is microchipped, desexed, vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms. She is a healthy girl.
Ginny is located in Cameron Park NSW, and is available for adoption within NSW and ACT only. We encourage any questions or further enquiries to her carer at a.lewis-fairfull@hotmail.com
