About Amy
Amy is a 4 year old, wolfhound-cross who is amazing with all humans..
Nicknamed “The Angel” when she first came to us, she quickly proved why. Amy loves rubs on her nose and spending time with her humans at home. She will happily snooze indoors provided she gets regular walks and mental stimulation each day, and will leave her humans alone to sleep during the night.
She has lived an isolated life, so she is getting used to the sights and sounds around town and learning very quickly to not be startled by them. Playing in an enclosed yard is essential as Amy has not learnt about the dangers of cars and would run out onto the road if she saw something that intrigued her.
She has a special love of balls, particularly ones that squeak, and would love to find a family to play footy with her. Amy is fully house-trained.
On walks, she likes to say hello to strangers in hopes of a pat. Since she is close to 35kg, her new owners will need to be strong and fit as she does get very excited when she sees other dogs. Once with them, she sniffs them over very carefully, and stands very still, wagging her tail. Amy is still learning how to walk on a leash and is responding very well to training with treats and squeaky toys.
