About Tasman
Big legs and a big heart – that’s our Tasman!
This stunning girl is the biggest sweetheart. She loves nothing more than getting cuddles from her people and is well on the way to becoming an oversized lap dog. If you can’t find her then you had best check the couch as you will probably find her there just waiting for the tummy rubs and movie time. Tasman didn’t get to meet many new people before coming to us from rural NSW, so she can be a little shy on a first meeting but quickly warms up to make friends with everyone. She has a playful personality and enjoys playing with her toys. Tasman is going to make a very loyal and loving addition to a family.
While in foster care, Tasman has been living with a couple of other dogs and loves a good game with her doggy friends. She is able to be rehomed with another dog or by herself if someone is home most of the time. As she is still a young pup, Tasman will require appropriate and ongoing socialisation with other dogs. This would ideally be regular playdates with other friendly dogs. She also loves to do zoomies and stretch her legs. Tasman will need daily exercise and mental stimulation throughout her life to keep her happy and healthy.
Tasman thrives off routine and will need someone who is able to support her during the transition period going into her new home. She has begun her basic training while in care, is food motivated and being crate trained at night. As a young pup who will grow to a big dog, it is very important that her new owners are committed to continuing her training. She will need training that extends beyond puppy preschool to ensure that she grows up to be a well-mannered and balanced adult dog. Tasman can still be a bit jumpy so is better suited to children who are confident with large dogs or who are older.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Tasman where she will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. She should be allowed to be inside with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. Tasman may be able to live with a dog savvy cat if her new owners have experience in integrating the two and the ability to take introductions slowly.
If you would like to make this beautiful girl a part of your family then please let us know by completing a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step. In your application, please include details of your previous dog experience and your capacity to appropriately train and socialise Tasman.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
