About Hazel
Hi, I'm Hazel
We don't know why, but I was on death row in NSW until SLPR saved me and I came to QLD.
I am only 5 months old and so grateful to live. I am fantastic with other dogs and cats, not fazed by birds or even the cane toads here.
My foster Mummy says I am a loyal, confident, intelligent, energetic, passionate, an incredibly quick learner, protective, loving and always happy go lucky natured Lil' girl. I am happy both indoors and out. I do prefer cooler temps so as much as I like to be comfy and have cuddles on the bed, I later get too hot, and the foster mummy puts me outside for a bit during the night for me to cool down. However, I am not the type of girl you can just chuck out the back and leave 24/7. I adore being with my people and thrive on that engagement and bonding. I am always up for a car drive and can hop in and out of the car all by myself. I sit in the back the whole time and wait for instruction when foster Mum opens the door to let me out. There isn’t anything I'm afraid of. I will walk beside you and keep you company sitting beside you while you hose the garden. Not sure why my foster sisters disappear, it's only water and it's pretty cool. I often wear a happy smile as it is great getting to live life. During the day I am in the backyard, and we have lots of toys here I like. Foster Mum says she is so surprised for a puppy, I haven't destroyed or chewed anything, even though I am teething. She does give me a cold carrot before bed which I like.
I will bark if I hear an unfamiliar sound or other dogs in neighbourhood bark, then my foster Mum will correct me. No idea why, I'm protecting her from potential aliens ya know. None the less, I am so happy to see her and come straight to her and sit at her feet. Sometimes I am so happy to see her I will jump up, but not so much as I'm learning she prefers I sit...and I do as I just am so eager to please.
I love my foster family so much, but they say I can't stay here forever, so I'd love my official family to be active and live life together. Someone as devoted to me as I am to them. Do you think you could help a Lil' girl out????
While we cannot confirm without DNA testing when pets come from pounds their breeds with no background history either, we believe Hazel displays both physical and personality traits of the Belgian Malinois and is potentially a cross of this magnificent breed. Preferably a few meets and some experience with this breed is needed. Hazel will have all vet work completed and adoption is subject to a home check to ensure this chocolate beauty never ends up in pound ever again.

Adoption Process
Once you have decided you would like to meet or apply for one of our pets, we email out our Adoption Application. We ask that the Adoption Process be read and if comfortable with how we adopt, complete the application and email it back for processing. This takes approximately 5-7 days. If approved the pet will come for a 6 week trial for cats and 3 week trial for dogs . We believe it takes that long for a pet to settle. If all goes well during the trial and you wish to finalise the adoption we email all vet certificates and change of microchip forms. We believe in matching the right pet with the right home so your application does not guarantee an approval.
