About Mack
Please meet little MACK, a Jack Russell Terrier/Kelpie x Cattle Dog puppy born on 15 March 2022.
Mack's mum is a JR-Kelpie of small build and his dad is an Aussie blue cattle dog. This is only a guess, but we think Mack will end up being a small to medium-sized dog, no more than about 18 kgs.
In this particular breed mix, there are a lot of complementary qualities, some or all of which may end up in Mack. The JRT is a playful, independent, energetic, and plucky little dog. Trainable, smart, and very alert, he's a dog with a big personality. The Kelpie is sweet-tempered, eager to please, loyal and very clever. Doesn't everyone love a Kelpie? As for the cattle dog, he is an exceptional problem-solver, very loyal to his family and inclined to be reserved with strangers.
Mack is destined to be a clever, active, playful and loyal dog. To be happy and content, he will need an abundance of love and attention, along with plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation.
If you are interested in meeting him, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
Mack's adoption fee is $1,100. His adoption fee includes his first vaccination, microchipping, flea and worm treatment - and desexing when age appropriate.
Preference will be given to a home where someone is around most of the time and Mack will get the training, socialisation and care he needs to reach his full potential. Prior experience with active breeds will be well regarded. He is not suited to full-time workers. Secure fencing is essential.
Mack is available for interstate adoption.
