About Darla
Hi, my name is Darla and I can’t wait to meet you!
Last year a lovely family rescued me from the shelter, but I didn’t get along with the dog they already had at home. Early this year they had to make the heartbreaking decision to give me up, but luckily Project Underdog was there help.
I love snoozing during the day while my foster parents work, sun baking and rolling around on my back is also great. My favourite place to snooze is next to my foster Mum and Dad on the couch, I love being close to them and resting my head or paw on them gently while I snore away (which makes them laugh a lot). When I see you, you’re guaranteed a tail wag with a coordinated bum wiggle and the cheesiest smile going.
I’m not just a pretty face my foster parents reckon I’m a smart cookie. Age is only a number, I’m a young girl at heart. Especially when it’s time for a walk, I get so happy my bum wiggles are out of control and I have to do a few laps around the dining table before we can go because I’m that excited. Don’t think I’m a slow poke either, I love a brisk short walk, and the opportunity to wade through long grass or splash around at the beach. I like to play too, give me a bright coloured ball and we’ll be best friends! I even sometimes fall asleep with my favourite ball in my mouth.
While I love being close to my humans and watching what they do, I don’t mind some ‘me time’ now and then when they have to go out. My humans are very special to me, I’d prefer not to share their attention with other animals or young children. My foster Mum and Dad love having me around so much and would let me stay forever if they could, but they know the most perfect forever home is out there for me…..could that be you?

Darla recently had Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) surgery to improve her airways and help with regurgitation.
