About Bubbles & Crackles
Update: It's a bit surprising, but Bubbles and Crackles are still looking for their forever home. We have had to say no to a few homes, only because they have had stairs or slippery floor boards. So they need a single story home with mostly carpeted areas or rugs. If you have a suitable home and are looking for an adorable pair a kittens who will come running to greet you, play with you, nibble on your socks, trick you into belly rub attacks, and give you lots of affection and laughs, please apply and come meet them. We are sure you will love them. They are confident and friendly, and love people. They are used to being home alone during the day, they have each other to play with and keep each other company, so even if you're not home all the time that will be fine. Cuddles, love and play at night time is their usual routine. If this sounds good, please continue to read about them and pop in an application to meet them....
Bubbles and Crackles are a very unique and very special brothers. As well as being super friendly and playful, they are parvo survivors. Feline parvo virus can effect kittens brain development, particularly fine motor control. Bubbles was effect more than Crackles, and he bops his head while he eats, and falls down a lot.
Although Bubbles and Crackles had parvo at a young age, there is absolutely no need to feel sorry for them. The are so happy and healthy now, they run around and play, climb, jump, chase and have a great time together. They love their food, and a little boppy movement while eating does not slow Bubbles down! They are both excellent at using their litter tray, and do not have any accidents.
Bubbles and Crackles were born at a foster carer's home, so they are very used to people and will come running to greet you. They love a cuddle and a play, chasing a wand toy is one of their favourite, and they don't mind if you have a little giggle if they fall down, they will get straight back up and keep playing. They love their climbing tree and madly chasing each other through a tunnel.
If you have a home that is reasonably active, some soft spots to land if they fall, and loving kindness to share and help these two boys to enjoy more cuddles, then please apply and come and meet them. They are used to seeing dogs on the other side of a baby gate, and are not scared. They will even give the big dogs a bop on the nose. If you have a cat friendly dog that will not chase them, that would be suitable.
Bubbles and Crackles have been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. Happy and Healthy and ready for their forever home.
Medical notes
Cerebellar hypoplasia
When kittens are infected with FPV in utero or in the very early neonatal period, the virus can damage the rapidly dividing cells of the brain, and this can lead to cerebellar hypoplasia (CH).1 CH-affected kittens are usually wobbly, with an intention tremor owing to the lack of fine motor control. They have a wide-based stance, exaggerated high-stepping gait, and fall over a lot. Within a litter, kittens can be variably affected, with some having severe signs and others appearing almost unaffected. Provided they can eat and use a litter tray, these kittens can still be happily rehomed (Figure 2); they usually have no other additional deficits and no additional needs beyond a soft surface to land on when they fall and restricted access to roads and other hazards.
