About Ginger ~ 4mo Kelpie X(On Trial 14/5/22)
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provide individual listings specific to each foster dog that comes through our doors. Each listing outlines the specific requirements, and home that we are looking for. Should you submit an application OR inquiry and NOT receive a response within 5 business days (Monday-Friday), please understand that you have not met the specific requirements of the foster carer and will not be proceeding to the next stage. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged if you do not receive a reply, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time. Dog Rescue Newcastle reserve the right to not reply to unsuitable applicants and will not tolerate bullying, intimidation or harassment of our volunteers
Meet Ginger a 4 month old tan Kelpie x. Ginger is extremely affectionate and loves to have
cuddles with her foster carer.
Ginger loves playing outside with her sister and foster siblings. She is the more brave &
inquisitive out of her and her sister Daisey. She loves nothing more than being with you and having a good rough and tumble with other puppers.
Since coming into care, Ginger has learnt to sit for food & mostly goes to the toilet outside. Ginger has great recall and enjoys play tug a war with her foster siblings. Ginger hasn’t had much experience with walking on a lead and will need further training with this.
Ginger gets excited meeting new people and will jump up to greet them, her foster carer is
working on this and this will need to be continued in her new home. Ginger currently sleeps inside on a bed with her sister & foster siblings.
Ginger’s forever family will need to have an active lifestyle and understand that Ginger will
need exercise and mental stimulation. Ginger loves other dogs and would be best suited to a home with another playful dog. She has also been introduced to cats and loves them but as she’s just a puppy, she can be a bit full on for the cats.
As she loves her humans so much, she would need to be welcomed inside when the family is home and be involved in her new family’s life. Ginger would benefit with someone that is home most of the time or works part time. Since Ginger gets excited around new people and can jump up, a home with children over the age of 8 is best. GInger’s new home will need good fencing that is 6ft tall with no small gaps. Unfortunately, rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable.)
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All puppies will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training to ensure proper boundaries and routines are established. This will ensure that you get the best family member/friend possible
As Ginger is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing when she is approximately 5/6 months old. Please NO out of area applications.
For more information or to meet Ginger, please contact her foster carer on their email
carapearsall673@gmail.com. Ginger is in foster care in Shortland, NSW and is NOT available for adoption interstate. Ginger's adoption fee is $700 and includes all up to date vet work. She is vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and she will need to be desexed (which DRN will cover the cost at one their approved vets).
