Buz is the most sweetest, an absolute doll, truly gentle . Lives good, loves people, and company. Great with kids, just a dream .
Buzby had a rough start but thanks to his many helpers, heās ready to settle into a forever home. This very special boy had blood vessels from his heart wrapped around his oesophagus which was severely impeding on his ability to get food to his stomach properly. With some home management and some major surgery, his life is almost that of any other puppy. He is house trained but like any pup his age, he would benefit from normal training and socialisation.
He will need some small adjustments to his food and water regimes to maximise his health. These includeā¦.
Feeding an excellent quality soft raw diet with a high moisture content.
Feeding him from an elevated position and not having free access to food.
Not having free access to water (reducing his need for access to water by feeding him an appropriate moist diet is important for this)
Being mindful of things laying around that he will swallow eg kids toys etc. This is always important with puppies but a little more so with Buz as his oesophagus is floppier than usual and inappropriate things may not pass through as easily.
He is a delightful boy, a lovely mix of cheeky, playful and cuddly.
Please send in a lot of information demonstrating that you have read his profile ( as opposed to just applying for a cute pup, this is very important to us as we will receive tons of applications from people who havenāt read his profile. Applications with little information will go to the bottom of the pile)
Please research Megaesophagus. Itās very important that we know that you understand the condition before applying. Even though he is on the road to recovery, itās important to not go backwards.
āMegaesophagus is when the muscles of the esophagus do not work and food and water cannot be moved into the stomach. As a result, the food and water stay in the esophagus within the chest cavity and are never pushed into the stomach.ā
