About Juju
Juju is a beautiful muscovy duck looking for her forever home. She was rescued from a lake where she was dumped with another duck who was sadly taken by predators. She had heavy metal poisoning and some wounds but with medical attention she completely recovered and is a very healthy girl.
Juju is full of personality and attitude! She loves treats and will come running for a snack. She enjoys foraging and is an avid fly catcher, watching her can entertain you for hours. She loves to be a part of a flock but is known to be rather independent and have solo adventures. She is very easy to handle and doesn’t mind an occasional cuddle.
Juju has some ‘quirks’ we want potential adopters to be aware of, she can be quite bossy to other ducks and chickens. She occasionally gets broody and you will have to remove her from her coop/nest to ensure she is eating and drinking. She may nibble at you or your shoes when you move her but we think this is rather endearing. We believe her broodiness may lessen if she is not around any drakes.
She will only be adopted to a home with at least 2 other muscovy ducks, ideally no drakes. She cannot share an enclosure with chickens.
She will not be used for egg production or breeding. She will have at least 75% of her eggs fed back to her, she absolutely loves to eat them.
She is a beautiful soul and we know she will make a wonderful addition to a family.
