About Baltic
Baltic is a pint-sized dog with a loveable personality. He loves a cuddle and to warm your lap. He’ll even lick your face if you let him. You will find Baltic rolling over every chance he gets for a belly rub, no matter how awkward a position he has to get himself into! He is an inquisitive dog who runs at lightning pace when doing zoomies and bounds like a rabbit when having fun. Baltic also enjoys chewing his chew toy, chasing his ball and laying by his foster carers when they are working. He lets them know when he wants some attention with a little nudge to their hand so he can get a pat or scratch behind the ear.
Baltic loves going for his walks and sets a good pace for a little dog. He is friendly out and about with dogs that he meets and will have a sniff hello before heading on his way again. Baltic doesn’t have any interest in playing with other dogs though, so he is not a dog who needs play dates and is not suitable to go to dog parks or off-lead areas. He is currently in foster care with another dog but does display some resource guarding and snappy behaviour as he was previously living with a sibling who attacked him. If Baltic is to live with another dog, then his owner must have experience in dog training/behaviour management in order to keep him in line with his canine companion(s). Otherwise, he will need to be an only dog which he will be ok with. He is not suitable to live with cats.
This little guy is super clever! He hasn’t had much formal training, but he definitely enjoys learning something new. Baltic is food motivated, sits nicely for treats and walks relatively well in lead as long as you don’t mind him zig zagging a bit to get all the smells. He is toilet trained; however, has only recently been desexed so still has a tendency to mark in new environments for the first day or two. Baltic is good at sleeping in his crate through the night and enjoys jumping up on the lounge or bed for snuggles too. He lacks confidence around men and has displayed a tendency to ankle bite them if he is not guided appropriately. Once he was moved into a foster home with experienced handlers, this behaviour was able to be mitigated by introducing Baltic to new people on lead out the front of the property and then supervised him inside. For this reason, we are not rehoming Baltic into a busy household or one that has children.
We are looking for a very dog experienced owner for Baltic who is home most of the time. He has shown ability to be left alone for short periods but doesn’t do well over long periods of time and would benefit from someone who can grow his independence with routine and training. His new owner should have prior experience dealing with dogs who have needed management with their behaviour in some way – please outline this experience in your application if you apply. Baltic should be allowed inside to be with his family and have a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. He will need daily walks and would suit a quieter suburban or rural lifestyle rather than the inner city. Once he is settled in, Baltic will show his new owner his loveable personality and fun character that will make them fall in love with him.
If you feel that you can offer Baltic his perfect forever home then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website and include plenty of detail about your experience with managing dog behaviour.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
