About Sandy
Let me tell you a bit about my likes and dislikes, and what type of home I am on the lookout for.
I am an affectionate, gentle and loving girl with those that I have built a bond with.
I should let you know that I can be fearful of new people and loud noises, so it is important for me to go to a home that is on the quieter side. It would be absolutely wonderful if my new owners are experienced with dog training and behaviour issues, so they are able to help slowly build up my confidence around unknown people, environments and sounds.
I am quite an active girl, so would love to go on daily walks around the neighbourhood, and have play time with my new family.
I can be fearful of other dogs, and have some behaviours that need to be worked on surrounding this. My new owners would need to be willing to take me to one on one dog training classes so we can work on modifying my behaviour as a team. Because of this, it would be best if I am the only animal in the home.
When I was surrendered, the staff noticed I skip intermittently on my back legs and knew this needed further investigation. I ended up having X-rays, which revealed that there is nothing wrong with my back legs, however, it was associated with my hips. I am now on a pain medication trial, to see if this helps with my issues.
Upon admit, it was also noted that my teeth aren’t in the best condition, so I have been booked in for a dental procedure, however, it is not until a few weeks away.
Due to the above reasons, I will be ‘foster with a view to adopt’ until I am medically managed. The staff will be able to explain my medical issues in further detail, and answer any questions that you may have.
If you think I sound like the perfect fit for you, please fill out an expression of interest for me below.
