Sasha

This little darling is SASHA, a lively, sweet-tempered and affectionate Staffy Jack pup, born on 26 November 2021. As at 23 April, she weighed only 6.9 kgs so is a wee slip of a girl.

Staffy Jacks, a cross between an English Staffordshire Terrier and a Jack Russell Terrier, are relatively uncommon. In the case of Miss Sasha, or "Baby Girl" as her foster mum likes to call her, she has the colour and the short, smooth coat of the Staffy and the headshape of the Jack.

If you look closely at the photos, you'll see her coat is chocolate, not black, and it's super shiny. She has spotty white socks on her front feet and a gorgeous white blaze on her chest. All in all, she's a very pretty little girl.

Temperament-wise, Sasha is affectionate, fun-loving and lively. Both Staffies and Jack Russells are active and athletic dogs, so be prepared to give Sasha lots of physical and mental stimulation. Otherwise, she will direct her abundant energy into negative behaviours, such as digging and destructive chewing. After all, she's just a pup.

Both parent breeds are terriers, so expect Sasha to inherit a healthy prey drive and a good dollop of terrier stubborness and determination. She will benefit from plenty of early socialisation and obedience training. In return, you will have a devoted, loyal and loving little dog that will keep you entertained and on your toes.

Sasha is learning to walk on a lead, but for a puppy that sees excitement around every corner, she’s easily distracted. She is eager to please and clever, so with time and patience, will respond well to training. She was relaxed and well-behaved at the vet where the photos were taken.

Preference will be given to a home where someone is around most of the time and there is another compatible dog for Sasha to play with. She is not suited to full-time workers or apartment living and may be a little too exuberant for small children. She needs space to romp and play. She is very dog-friendly but is untested with cats.

Sasha's adoption fee is $950. She is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
