About Oscar
This gorgeous and statuesque boy is a stunner and will turn heads wherever he goes. He adores his people and loves to go on adventures in the car. He does a happy dance when he gets to go on a road trip.
He loves his walks and playing in the yard with his carers. He has the greatest time playing with his toys.
Oscar has settled into life as a foster hound very well. He knows the routines and learning some manners. He knows how to signal his humans if he needs to go outside to attend to business. He is a clever boy and has already mastered 'down' and shake'.
In the home, although he likes his own space at times, he sometimes stays by his humans while they go about their business. He will look at you and smile, just happy in your company. He will do anything for french fries and is a sucker for a good butt scratch and a bit of a sing-a-long.
Oscar is a dreamy affectionate boy, his foster carers liken him to a majestic kangaroo with double Dorito ears.
Oscar would be suitable in a home as an only dog if his humans are around a fair bit. He would ideally prefer an outdoor area, but so long as he is getting his regular walks and adventures with his favourite people, he will be a happy chappy in any home.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
